Gail had been very busy at workshops with her Celtic inspired table mat and also her 3 zip bag whilst she had also made herself a version of Elaine's quilter's necessary using some favourite material - an excellent way of using a material you really like.
We were really pleased to welcome Jane Davies to Gwent Quilters today to hold a workshop for us on her wonderful 'New England Houses'. We had decided to concentrate on her Amish Washday Pattern (pictured below) . Jane suggested we did a practice small house to begin with and we had lots of fun deciding on colour schemes and cutting out and placing the pieces required. We were then a little more confident at putting together our larger picture and there were some lovely examples produced. The back often looks good too! In our lunch break we had our show and tell. Carol had completed her lovely Glace Surprise quilt from Marion's workshop, Steph her beautiful butterfly quilt and Tessa her spectacular star quilt. Gail had also made a colourful tumbling block baby quilt. Smaller items included a very cute chicken wall hanging from Fiona which used the 'dual-chicken' method, one in and one out!!
