We dedicated the day to making quilt tops for a local Women's Refuge. We had been busy cutting up scraps beforehand and members were able to use them in any way they liked to make a single or child's quilt top.
The group are buying wadding for these quilts with money raised from the donation of books and fabric of one of our members who sadly passed away recently (see the September 2021 blog). Gail, our chair has bravely volunteered to quilt these tops and other members will bind them. Look out for photos at a later date.....
Meanwhile we had a lovely 'show and tell' with a great variety of exquisite quilts and a couple of 'quilty items'.
Carol Chambers showed us her lovely butterfly quilt, a gift for a friend which she wouldn't mind keeping for herself! Christine had a delightful pin cushion in the shape of a caravan and Mariette has made a gorgeous rabbit complete with patchwork dress. Gail has completed her stunning 'patchwork of the crosses' which we saw the beginnings of during our zoom sessions in lockdown.
