Carol E. had made a lovely farm animal themed baby quilt, Elaine had made a larger quilt for an 18th birthday present (from the Over the Rainbow pattern in Love Patchwork and Quilting issue 31), and Pat had finished her honeycomb quilt from the Jan Hassard workshop (see our Feb blog). Really lovely and very effective.
Another fun day, lots of members got down to making 'Morsbags' after some help and explanation from our vice-chairman, Tessa. Morsbags are reusable, original, recycled, washable, strong shopping bags that will last for years and replace the use of many plastic bags along the way. Such a good use of recycled material, so good for the environment and great to give away! See http://www.morsbags.com for more details. In our 'show and tell' we again saw that members had been very busy! Carol E. had made a lovely farm animal themed baby quilt, Elaine had made a larger quilt for an 18th birthday present (from the Over the Rainbow pattern in Love Patchwork and Quilting issue 31), and Pat had finished her honeycomb quilt from the Jan Hassard workshop (see our Feb blog). Really lovely and very effective. Looking forward to our June meeting on 25th when we will be having an in-house workshop with Gail showing us how to make a sewing caddy.
