Gail very kindly organised our in-house workshop this month. 11 of our members were kept very busy making a lovely, very useful, sewing caddy. Good fun was had by all and we were all determined to get them finished promptly and put to good use! Next month we have our summer lunch and business of the day was making sure everyone knew the jobs they were doing and food they were bringing to help the day run smoothly. Visitors are very welcome, see details on our home page. Richard Box is our guest speaker this year and we're sure it will be an interesting and enjoyable day. Our 'show and tell' this month was very varied. Maureen and been busy with large and small quilts; a finished hexagon quilt from the Jan Hassard workshop and a 5" square mini-quilt with flying geese. Carol E had been to a traditional quilt weekend retreat and took a workshop with Barbara Chainey, using hand sewing and no paper piecing to make a lovely cushion cover (not quite finished!). And just to prove we don't make just quilts and do find a use for our scraps! Diana showed us her wonderful Green Man creation and Elaine showed us her bowl made from fabric strips.
