We thoroughly enjoyed our external workshop with local quilter, Hilary Walsh in September. Hilary showed us how to make her Fractured Square Quilt. Many members took part and in the 2 examples I have here, Carol E made 2 cushions (left) and Mair is making a quilt. Hilary and her daughter Sian offer quilting workshops, details on her website http://www.passion4patchwork.co.uk/ . Her next Class, using a jelly roll, is in St Arvans, near Chepstow on Sat 16th November £42. Example pictured below. There was, once again, a wonderful variety of work in our Show & Tell. Pat has made a wonderful quilt for her granddaughter to take to University, very much an animal lover so will really appreciate the theme of the quilt. Pat has also made 2 beautiful cushions to be part of our 'Chinese Auction' at our exhibition next June. Debbie showed us her lovely squares quilt whilst Gaynor had been busy with Card Trick and many hexies! Lew showed us 2 finished articles from previous workshops - 'O Little Town' with Trease Lane and Boro Bag with Gail. Tessa also belongs to a modern quilt group and showed us her twisty stripes and Welsh theme entry which you may have seen at the West of England show.
