Gwynneth started the day with an interesting origami flower demonstration. Gail made us a snappy bag (with an intriguing way of closing the bag). Carol E showed us how to make an interesting photo frame and Diana showed us some of the techniques she uses when making her wonderful art quilts.
April proved to be a busy and very interesting meeting. Thank you to Carol for organising a lot of demos throughout the day and thanks to all the demonstrators who were able to pass on some wonderful tips, techniques and inspiration. Some of the demos are pictured below; apologies to all the others I didn't manage to photograph. Gwynneth started the day with an interesting origami flower demonstration. Gail made us a snappy bag (with an intriguing way of closing the bag). Carol E showed us how to make an interesting photo frame and Diana showed us some of the techniques she uses when making her wonderful art quilts. Our 'Show and 'Tell' also contained lots to inspire us. Carol, Pat, June and Beryl had recently been to Quilters Guild AGM in Llandudno and showed us the mini-quilts inspired by last year's trip to York and Harrogate. Maureen has been working hard on her 'trees in season' quilt, absolutely gorgeous. Look forward to seeing it properly displayed at our exhibition, June 2017 Maureen had also made a mini 'scrap' quilt with half sqaure triangles. We saw a lovely 'quillow' made by Carol C, Gail's useful blue bag and a beautiful Black cat quilt made by Gwynneth (to replace the one displayed at festival of Quilts last year for Cat's Protection and now sorely missed!) Tessa will be telling us all about Morsbags in May and the committee will be getting on with organising our summer lunch, details on our home page.
