Although we are taking a break from our usual meetings we love getting together for a more social event at our summer lunch. Good food, good company, great speaker and a raffle of course! Our speaker this year was Judith Barker. We enjoyed her talk on Folk Art and admired her work based on folk art themes. For more information visit her website: http://www.judithbarkerquiltart.co.uk/ Our meetings resume at the YMCA on September 26th when we will be running a workshop with Dawn Cameron Dick. We still have a few spaces available, for more details please contact us via the contacts page.

We really enjoyed our miniature workshop with Judith Dursley today. As our tutor said, workshops should be fun, not stressful! No sewing machines required today as we were using foundation piecing to make tiny trees which will eventually become a very cute wall hanging. A great variety of trees were produced with much laughter along the way. Hopefully we will see the finished product in our 'show and tell' shortly. We also had our show and tell. Mair and Elaine had produced lovely kimono wall hangings using techniques taught to us by Gwynneth in our foundation piecing demonstration in March. Tessa and Sam had been working on much larger projects:
